Lowestoft residents are being asked to ‘save the date’ for the 2015 Lowestoft Rising community event, an opportunity to get involved in community activities and share ideas on the future of the town.
The event, which takes place on Monday 2 November at the Riverside building, will give residents, businesses and community groups the opportunity to question county and district councillors, obtain information and find out more about the work of Lowestoft Rising.
Attendees will have the chance to give their views on the town and share their ideas for the future. All aspects of the community will be open for discussion, from supporting older people, housing, health, crime and community safety, the work of the Coastal Community Team, sports and leisure provision, young people’s services, business, employment and skills.
As well as brainstorming the important topics for the town, the event is an ideal opportunity to learn more about, and sign up to, the new Lowestoft Citizens Panel.
The Lowestoft Rising community event takes place on Monday 2 November between 2pm – 7pm at Riverside, Canning Road, Lowestoft. Cafe East will be open for refreshments and anyone wishing to attend the event is welcome to drop in on the day. The event is also a chance to visit the Riverside building, which is shared by Waveney District Council and Suffolk County Council and enables joint working between the two councils.
Lowestoft Rising comprises a number of public sector agencies including Suffolk Police, Suffolk Police and Crime Commissioner’s office, Waveney District Council, Suffolk County Council and Health East which work together in a unique way to improve the way the public and voluntary sectors operate for Lowestoft, with the aim of making the town a better place.
